Fees, refunds & cancellations
Last refreshed 28 May 2026. The headline: discovery calls are free, "no recovery, no fee" applies to traces and audits, and any engagement can be ended in writing without penalty.
1. The discovery call is complimentary
Your first 45-minute consultation — by phone, WhatsApp video, or in our KLCC suite — is not billed. We absorb the cost of the meeting whether or not it leads to a signed engagement.
2. Service-specific outcome guarantees
- EPF & retirement tracing: If a 30-day trace finds no recoverable funds across EPF, KWAP and PERKESO, no fee is payable. You owe only the bureau fees if any (typically RM 0–10) which are disclosed up front.
- Government benefit claims: Where an appeal is unsuccessful, the fee for that specific agency (RM 380) is not charged. Successful claims for a different agency in the same audit are billed normally.
- Savings & bill reduction: Our fee is one third of the first twelve months of confirmed savings, capped at RM 480. If a sixty-month sweep saves nothing, no fee is charged.
- Debt & credit management: The RM 420 health-check is a fixed fee paid on engagement; if we find no actionable item, half is refunded within seven working days of case closure.
- Estate & will planning: Drafting fees are billed in two equal instalments — at engagement and on signing. If you cancel between draft and signing, the second instalment is not charged.
3. Cancelling an engagement
You may cancel any engagement at any time in writing (email is fine). We will issue a final invoice for work properly completed up to the date of cancellation. Any sums already paid in excess of work completed are refunded within seven working days, by interbank transfer to the account from which payment was originally received.
4. Cancelling a scheduled appointment
Standard appointments may be cancelled up to two hours before the booked time without penalty. A no-show or a same-time cancellation costs the firm a scheduled advisor slot; for client courtesy we ask that a small administration fee of RM 30 be settled before the next booking. This does not apply to medical, family, or weather-related emergencies.
5. Disputing a bill
If you believe an invoice is wrong, write to [email protected] within fourteen days of the invoice date with a short note on what you'd like reviewed. A partner who did not work on your case will look at it and reply within seven working days. While the matter is open, you are not asked to pay the disputed line.
6. Mediation
If we cannot agree, the matter goes to the Asian International Arbitration Centre's mediation list (KL) before any court action. We carry the mediator's fee.
