Service · Four

A short, quiet will. An asset map. A list your family can actually use.

Estate work in Malaysia does not need to be expensive or alarming. Most over-55s want three things in writing: a simple will, named nominees on the right accounts, and a single page their executor can follow without ringing five banks.

The four pieces of paper most Malaysians need

Drafted slowly, in plain English, kept in your hands

  • A simple Malaysian will — drafted under the Wills Act 1959, witnessed by two qualified witnesses, and lodged with Amanah Raya for safekeeping if you prefer.
  • EPF Form KWSP 4 — naming or updating beneficiaries on every EPF account so probate is not required.
  • Tabung Haji, ASB, and ASNB nominations — each scheme has its own form, and only the latest version on file is honoured.
  • The executor's one-page map — a single sheet listing every account, policy, safe-deposit and digital subscription, with phone numbers, branch addresses, and the location of original certificates.

How the drafting works

Two meetings. One careful sentence at a time.

Meeting one · Wishes and questions

Ninety minutes, usually with the family member you would want as executor at the table. We work through who, what and where, in that order. No drafting yet — only listening.

Between meetings · Draft and review

Imran prepares a draft in plain English (and Bahasa Malaysia, if you'd like). We email it to you and to your named family member, with a printed copy delivered by courier inside Klang Valley.

Meeting two · Signing

You read it aloud one last time. We provide two qualified witnesses on site. The original goes home with you (or to Amanah Raya, your choice); two signed copies stay in the encrypted vault.

The fee, in one sentence

A flat RM 980 for a simple will plus the four supporting nomination forms. Akta 388 simple-estate declarations for surviving spouses are RM 640. Contested matters we refer to a panel lawyer at their standard fee.

What clients tend to ask first

Usually we recommend a fresh will rather than a codicil — addresses have changed, witnesses have moved or passed away, and account references no longer match. The cost is the same, the clarity for your family is greater.

Yes, in collaboration with a panel of registered Syariah practitioners. The fixed share under Faraid is applied; wasiat (the discretionary one-third) is drafted with the same care as a civil will.

The safest answer for most Malaysian families is Amanah Raya's will custody service — secure, retrievable, and recognised by every probate court. We arrange the lodgement for you.

That is your call. The executor must be told they have been named. The contents can remain private until the time comes. We provide a small sealed envelope titled "in the event" — to be opened by the executor only.

Shall we set the four documents in order?

A short call is enough to know whether a will is sensible for you now or whether nominee updates alone will do the job.
